I recently got this months edition of Gameinformer, and just browsing through my eye caught glimpse of the new Tomb Raider. Set to release this coming March, I started to read the article. I saw the demo on E3 2012 and upon watching it I was automatically hooked and excited. I have always been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games. Who wouldn’t love to play a very attractive archeologist that hunts for treasure and kicks the crap out of anyone in her way? After reading the article I got to thinking. This game has a strange resemblance to the Uncharted games. Coincidence? Until I play this game I can’t bash it very much, but just from the demo, the article, and the game play pictures, they look similar. Lora running through the forest, hanging from a chopper, climbing, who knows. I don’t want to go in depth just looked familiar. For the most part, I am very excited about this game release, and for the record I love Uncharted 1-3. No hard feelings just a thought.
What happened to the days when you could just turn on your console, put in a game, and play until the sun went down. Grant you, it is still possible to pull a pretty gruesome all nighter running through a hail of gunfire playing COD on release night, with a 12 pack of Redbull. But game creators and the “big wigs” making the consoles have forgotten the basis of gaming. To put it simply, they are putting too much frosting on the cake! I don’t need Hulu, Netflix, Nickelodeon, Facebook, and all that other TV stuff on my console jamming it up. Honestly isn’t that why we have computers? It is cool to have sometimes, I do enjoy my Netflix. Somethings can just be too much, and too overwhelming. If someone has never owned a newer generation console, just starting it up may seem like rocket science….. Should I call Tech Support? Anyways, with the fast moving world of gaming things are surely just going to get bigger and better, so they say. All in all, as long as the games get better and better I guess I’ll deal with all the madness on my dashboard….Enough said!
With the ever evolving game consoles in existence, what else is possible. What can be added besides a new graphics engine, new look, and a newly designed controller. Will there be more functions? I know everything is going to online features such as downloadable content, and maybe even getting rid of hard copy games completely. Having that new game in hand and unwrapping it is a great feeling! I hope they don’t go that way, but who knows. You can add a bigger hard drive, add wireless features, and a new name, but I want to be impressed. Show me a game system that I can’t live without! I want graphics I can smell. It’s possible right?
I dug up some more info on Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs and I have to say it is pretty interesting. The concept of computers controlling everything and individualism is virtually null and void is a hard concept to swallow. Watch_Dogs breaks the ordinary game mold by allowing the player to take control of all tech objects around him/her. In an age where hackers are everywhere and computers are in control, will anyone be safe?
Wow! What a ride, and it’s sad to say “It’s over.” As for all the hype, it was definitely worth it. Some amazing games were revealed this year and just to name a few how about Dead Space 3, Black Ops II, Assassins Creed III, The Last of Us, and last but not least, Watch Dogs. Now Watch Dogs was amazing, and if you didn’t see it on E3 I suggest you check it out asap! From the game play to the visual arts, this game merges gaming and art together with ease. I will be following this game closely with great interest and will be playing as soon as it’s released. As for the rest of E3 I was not let down at all, and for all the behind the scenes and video reviews of every game shown check out www.e3.gamespot.com. They have all the information you could ever need if you missed out on E3 this year.
Why are people going crazy already for E3 2012? It hasn’t even happened yet! Yes, grant you, there are going to be some epically awesome games rolling down the red carpet. For one, there will be no new console reveals! Oh wow Wii U.. blah blah.. Wii was fine, don’t over due it. Although a turning point for Microsoft will be the breaking news of their new Xbox Smart Glass! Super pumped about this piece of Tech. But until E3 2012 premiers I guess I’ll sit on my hands and bite my tongue, and wait patiently unlike so many others. When E3 premiers then I’ll go crazy!
